In 2024 Migrant Justice Institute conducted the National Temporary Migrant Work Survey, with 9,963 participants. The Off the Books report addresses the experiences of the subset of 8.370 participants who had worked in Australia on a temporary visa in 2023-24. It focuses on their lowest paid job during that period. This page presents the demographics of these 8,370 participants, by industry. It provides an understanding of the profile of the migrants whose data forms the basis of findings for each industry in the Off the Books report. It does not reflect the migrant composition at an industry level in the Australian workforce more broadly.
